What is Knowledge Layer?
Knowledge Layer is a private, enterprise-grade AI platform that deploys specialised agents on top of your existing data infrastructure. It sits natively on Microsoft 365, integrates with Copilot, and connects to any ERP or enterprise system via certified REST connectors — without replacing any existing tooling.
Each agent is a domain-specific operational function pre-trained on industry patterns — not a generic chat assistant repurposed for enterprise use. The platform operates entirely within your infrastructure boundary. Your data never leaves. Your models run on your hardware. You own the licence perpetually.
Data Sovereign by Default
Every agent runs inside your network. No cloud relay, no external inference calls, no shared infrastructure.
Domain-Specific Agents
Each agent encodes industry-specific process logic, terminology, and regulatory requirements — not generalised AI.
Perpetual Licence
You own the licence. No per-seat SaaS costs, no usage caps, no dependency on vendor uptime or pricing changes.
Integrations & Compatibility
Knowledge Layer sits on top of Microsoft 365 natively — agents surface inside Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint without requiring a separate interface. The platform extends Microsoft Copilot with domain-specific intelligence that generic LLM assistants cannot provide.
Microsoft Copilot Plugin: Knowledge Layer registers as a Copilot plugin, enabling M365 users to invoke agents directly from Teams or Outlook chat using natural language — no separate app required.
For network and infrastructure environments, Knowledge Layer integrates with Aruba for network-layer telemetry ingestion, enabling agents to correlate operational events with network data in OT and industrial contexts.
LLM Agnostic Architecture
Knowledge Layer is not tied to any single large language model. Organisations can bring their preferred LLM — Azure OpenAI, a self-hosted open-weight model such as LLaMA or Mistral, a custom fine-tuned model, or Anthropic Claude — or use the default private model runtime that ships with the platform.
Why it matters: LLM capabilities evolve rapidly. Agnostic architecture means your agents improve as models improve — with no re-implementation cost, no vendor lock-in, and no forced migration path.
The critical distinction is that Knowledge Layer agents are industry-specific operational functions, not LLM wrappers. Each agent encodes:
Domain Knowledge
Pre-trained on industry-specific process patterns, regulatory requirements, and domain terminology — procurement, HSE, GxP, compliance.
Deterministic Workflow
Process rules layered above the LLM ensure consistent, auditable outputs regardless of which model is running underneath.
Context Isolation
Each agent operates in a fully isolated context. No data bleed between agent types, no shared conversation state.
Automated Deployment Pipeline
Knowledge Layer uses a fully automated CI/CD deployment pipeline. From contract to live production agents in 7 days — no lengthy IT projects, no manual server configuration, no custom integration work for standard connectors.
Infrastructure as Code: All environment provisioning is defined as code — repeatable, version-controlled, and auditable. Tenant setup, connector configuration, and agent deployment are fully automated from a single pipeline run.
Separate Tenants
Each client runs on a fully isolated tenant with no shared infrastructure, shared data stores, or cross-client exposure of any kind.
Cloud Agnostic
Deploy on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or on-premises. The pipeline is cloud-neutral and infrastructure-agnostic.
Air-Gap Capable
For classified or high-security environments, Knowledge Layer can be deployed in a fully air-gapped configuration with no external network dependency.
Data Sovereignty & Privacy
Data sovereignty is architectural — not a contractual promise. Knowledge Layer is designed from the ground up so that client data never leaves client infrastructure. There is no telemetry pipeline, no training on client data, and no shared model state between tenants at any point.
Zero Egress Architecture: The LLM model runtime is deployed inside your private network or dedicated environment. All inference happens locally. No data is transmitted to external AI providers — ever.
AES-256 Encryption
All data encrypted at rest with AES-256. Customer-managed keys — you hold the key, Knowledge Layer cannot access your data.
Perpetual Licence
You own the software licence permanently. No SaaS subscription that can be cancelled, no data held hostage by a vendor.
Tamper-Evident Audit Logs
Every agent interaction is logged with immutable timestamps. Full audit traceability for regulatory inspections and internal governance.
Authentication & Access Control
Knowledge Layer includes enterprise-grade identity and access management out of the box. The platform integrates with your existing identity provider — no parallel user directory, no shadow credential management, no separate login portal.
SSO / LDAP
Integrates with Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, Okta, and any LDAP-compatible identity provider via SAML 2.0 or OIDC.
5-Tier RBAC
Granular role-based access controls enforced at the RAG query level — not just the UI. Governs which agents, data sources, and outputs each role can access.
MFA Enforced
Multi-factor authentication enforced at platform level. Configurable per-tenant policy and per-role requirements.
SCIM Provisioning
Automated user lifecycle management via SCIM — accounts provision and deprovision automatically when employees join or leave.
Microsoft Entra ID: For M365-deployed tenants, authentication flows through Microsoft Entra ID. Users sign in once with existing corporate credentials — no additional accounts, no separate passwords.
